Job description

The Global Sales Manager provides high-level commercial and operational support to the Global Commercial Director, acting as their right hand. This role involves overseeing key sales processes, supporting the Global Commercial Director in managing members of the international sales team, as well as liaising with our global partners.

Over time, the Global Sales Manager may also take on responsibility for a specific territory. This position is crucial in helping the Global Commercial Director achieve the company’s commercial objectives. You ensure that the Global Commercial Director can delegate specific tasks, such as partner or regional management, to you with confidence.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing designated sales team members.
  • Executing international sales tasks for the Global Commercial Director.
  • Managing designated accounts and partners.
  • Developing designated sales areas.
  • Preparing detailed reports, presentations, and analytics to assist the Global Commercial Director in decision-making. This includes tracking sales performance, customer acquisition data, and forecasting sales trends.
  • Assisting in the development, implementation, and optimization of sales strategies and processes. Ensuring the alignment of sales activities with broader company goals.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the Global Commercial Director is kept informed on key issues, customer feedback, and sales progress.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date sales data in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics), ensuring that the Global Commercial Director has timely access to relevant metrics and KPIs.
  • Assisting the Global Commercial Director in the development of sales strategies and business development plans by conducting research, preparing materials, and gathering insights to support the sales team’s objectives.
  • Organizing high-level meetings, client visits, and sales presentations for the Global Commercial Director, ensuring that logistics and materials are well-prepared.
  • Supporting the Global Commercial Director with project management tasks, ensuring that key initiatives are on track and that timelines are adhered to.
  • Managing confidential business information with the highest level of discretion, particularly related to strategic sales initiatives, negotiations, and high-level customer relationships.
  • Developing systems and processes with internal stakeholders to streamline workflows and improve customer service levels.
  • Travelling internationally is a significant part of the role.
  • Providing support to distributors by resolving queries in collaboration with the Inside Sales Manager.

Your profile

  • Minimum of MBO+/HBO level (associate or bachelor’s degree) in a commercial or business-related field such as Sales, Business Administration, or a similar discipline. 
  • At least 5 years of experience in a sales manager role, preferably supporting senior management or a sales leadership team.
  • Advanced proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with sales analytics tools. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with high-level stakeholders. 
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, capable of managing complex tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyze sales data, providing insights and reports that assist the Sales Director in making informed strategic decisions.
  • High level of attention to detail, especially when preparing reports, presentations, and sales-related documents. 
  • Excellent commercial skills to support our partner network.
  • A solid understanding of sales processes, techniques, and strategies, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to sales planning and execution.
  • Occasional time in the field and operation of equipment is required; a basic understanding of mechanical principles is essential.
