The role

As an operational buyer, you will be responsible for the purchasing process within our organisation, from order to delivery. You will ensure that orders generated by our ERP system are processed correctly and on time. Additionally, you will follow up on delayed orders and address supplier enquiries regarding orders.

You will make sure that article master data and supplier information are always accurate, working closely with our operational teams to ensure continuity in production.

What you will do

  • You will report to the Operations Director, and your key responsibilities as an Operational Buyer will include:
  •  Managing the purchasing process within our organisation, from order to delivery. You will review the proposals generated by the ERP system and ensure the orders are processed correctly.
  • Following up on overdue and unconfirmed order lines daily.
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for (potential) delivery issues.
  • Overseeing the entire process from internal purchase requests to official purchase orders in collaboration with your colleagues from the warehouse and R&D.
  • Ensuring that article master data and supplier information are accurate, in collaboration with suppliers and the warehouse.
  • Handling rejected items administratively and communicating with suppliers.
  • Sending out quarterly supplier evaluations and reviewing them (to be implemented).
  • Keeping purchasing-related export control documents up to date monthly (update process to be implemented).
  • Implementing improvement initiatives to optimise the purchasing process.

What you will bring

  • You have an MBO+ work and thinking level, preferably in the fields of commerce and technology or a similar field.
  • You have an affinity with technology.
  • You have at least 3–5 years of experience.
  • You have knowledge of SAP (or other ERP systems) and experience working with it.
  • You are independent but also work well in a team.
  • You have strong analytical skills and attention to data interpretation.
  • You have excellent communication skills and are flexible and customer-oriented.
  • You have good computer knowledge.
  • You are proficient in English; knowledge of Dutch and German is a plus.

  • A one-year employment contract with the possibility of a permanent contract.
  • Salary range: €3,250 to €4,000 per month (based on 40 hours/week, depending on your work experience).
