Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Associate assists the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies. Collaborates and communicates with Warehouse manager, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Picking and packing orders: The associate picks and packs outgoing orders according to customer specifications and prepares them for shipment.
- Inspecting goods: The associate inspects incoming goods for damages, defects, or other issues and reports any discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
- Documenting shipments: The associate is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Organizing and storing goods: The associate organizes incoming goods in the warehouse or storage area, ensuring that they are easily accessible and properly labeled.
- Forklift certification required (will be provided by Redexim if necessary)
- Shipping orders: The associate is responsible for arranging for the shipment of outgoing goods, including selecting the appropriate carrier, preparing shipping documents, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area: The associate is responsible for keeping the shipping and receiving area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Following safety procedures: The clerk follows safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- State motor vehicle operators permit for operation of forklift highly preferred
- Previous forklift experience preferred
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received
- Basic understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports as needed.
Additional Information
- BE A TEAM PLAYER
- Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Primarily on your feet throughout the day
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
